Best 10 Allergy Friendly Restaurants Near Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN
Hey there, fellow food enthusiasts! Join us on a flavorful adventure, exploring allergy friendly restaurants near Mayo Clinic.
Our Unique Connection with Rochester
We’re about to dive into a culinary adventure, exploring a carefully curated list of allergy friendly restaurants near the renowned Mayo Clinic. Our bond with this vibrant city runs deep. It’s not just about savoring fantastic food but also about finding nourishing options for those seeking world-class healthcare. Our Rochester tale began when I ventured out on a solo trip for the Executive Health Program, searching for allergy friendly restaurants near Mayo. I wasn’t expecting much in the way of dining adventures, just something healthy to eat as I tackled a backlog of healthcare appointments I’d been procrastinating for far too long. Little did I know how this journey would unfold.
From Medical Diagnosis to Dining Delights
As it turned out, Mayo Clinic was the place where I was diagnosed with Post-Covid Syndrome (PCS), a condition that set me on a path of discovery and healing. Subsequent visits with my daughter, who tagged along for my integrative health appointments, deepened our fondness for the city and its allergy friendly restaurants near Mayo. My teenage daughter, with allergies to nuts, sesame, and shellfish, added an extra layer of challenge to our culinary escapades. Exploring allergy friendly restaurants near Mayo Clinic became a fun distraction whenever we had a free moment.
But life has its twists and turns. And so it goes, we find ourselves returning to Rochester as I prepare for surgery to address Cushing’s Disease. Cushing’s Disease, itself, is exceedingly rare, affecting just 1 to 15 in a million. What further complicates matters is the specific variant I have: Cyclical Cushing’s. This variant poses an exceptional diagnostic challenge because its symptoms appear intermittently. My endocrinologist demonstrated remarkable foresight in suspecting this condition early in my journey, resulting in an unusually swift diagnosis that speaks to the expertise of the Mayo team. Their sense of urgency to respond, rather than allowing the disease to persist as it often does for years in many patients, is truly commendable.
My experience reflects the unique kind of medical journey that makes Mayo Clinic and Rochester known as Med City, an indelible part of our lives. While my surgery is scheduled with Mayo’s expert team, my future treatment and recovery plan will ensure I return to Rochester for extended stays. I eagerly anticipate these return visits and the discovery of more hidden culinary gems to add to this list.
So without further ado, let’s explore the Best 10 Allergy Friendly Restaurants Near Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN!

However, First Meeting Noodle is more than just a place to enjoy exceptional noodles. It’s a tribute to the hard work and dedication of previous generations. The restaurant invites diners to witness the noodle masters at work, connecting with authentic Chinese culture while honoring the values of diligence, economic independence, and the pursuit of a better life that inspire many immigrant families.
Our Personal Experience at First Meeting Noodle:
I discovered First Meeting Noodle through a recommendation from a local Rochester nurse at the Mayo Clinic. We talked about restaurants in the area mostly to help me keep my mind off the medical procedure I was prepping for over the next 3 hours. Her description was straightforward: it might not be fancy, and it’s located in a strip mall, but the food is excellent. Her advice turned out to be a delightful distraction.
During our visit, we were immediately impressed by the efficient and attentive service. I had concerns about my shellfish allergies and inquired about options for my daughter, who has allergies to nuts, sesame, and shellfish. The entire staff was not only accommodating but also knowledgeable about food allergies, a rarity that I greatly appreciated.
To start, we enjoyed the savory and delicious beef dumplings (6 pieces for $6.95), filled with flavorful soup that spilled onto our spoons. For the main course, we shared the Chicken & Mushroom Noodle Soup ($11.95), a generous portion perfect for two.
Final Thoughts on First Meeting Noodle:
I’ve already planned future visits when returning to the Mayo Clinic for follow-up appointments. I look forward to bringing my daughter, who will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of signature noodle dishes without worry about her allergies. The Stir-fried Noodles with garlic chicken ($11.95) and the Dan Dan Noodle ($11.95), for example, both sound enticing. If my husband joins us, he’ll likely opt for something spicier like the Dan Dan Noodle. And if my mother accompanies us, she’ll undoubtedly explore the Fried Rice Menu with its array of veggie, chicken, beef, and shrimp combinations.
First Meeting Noodle has left a lasting impression on me, not only for its delicious food but also for its commitment to accommodating food allergies, making it an excellent choice for families like mine.

The evening before my Mayo Clinic procedures, Victoria’s came highly recommended by the clinic staff, and they couldn’t have been more right. As for our go-to drinks, my daughter’s favorite is the Ancient Brown Sugar with Boba, while I often opt for either the Taro Milk Tea or the Matcha Latte with Boba. The menu offers a wide variety, so there’s something for everyone’s taste.
Uni Uni Bubble Tea is open every day, making it a convenient stop. They operate from 11 am to 9 pm on Mondays through Fridays and from 12 pm to 9 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Rave Reviews for Uni Uni Bubble Tea, Rochester:
It’s not just us who love this place. A Yelp review from a fellow bubble tea enthusiast, likely a patient at the Mayo Clinic like me, had this to say: “This is my and my husband’s go-to bubble tea place in Rochester. As two people who grew up in a town with at least 10 bubble tea shops within a 5-mile radius, we have both agreed that Uni Uni is one of the best bubble tea shops in Rochester.”
Another reviewer said, “Whether you’re in need of a caffeine fix or a delightful dessert, Uni Uni Bubble Tea won’t disappoint. They offer a variety of drinks, from classics like banana milk and milk tea with Oreo cheese foam to various fruit teas. Just a tip, they tend to make their drinks on the sweeter side, so if you prefer less sweetness, don’t hesitate to ask. Their boba is consistently chewy, soft, and just the right amount of QQ” [QQ means ‘chewy’ in Taiwanese]. Finally, another positive review, “Visit Uni Uni Bubble Tea for a taste of boba bliss in the heart of Rochester – you won’t be disappointed!”
